I have no problem with her being charged, given a citation or being handcuffed...... what I have a problem with is an adult male (allegedly trained in tactical skills of taking down a 'bad guy') punching a female (any female) in the face.

Yes. It's a very simple issue. When you ignore someone's legitimate authority and violently pursue them, you will and should be dealth with physical restraint. We live in a society of law and order, and the place to question authority or the exercise of it is not in the street. The hussy got exactly what she deserved, and yes, if it were my relative, I would say the same thing. In fact, I hold my own relatives to a higher standard than I do strangers.

Did you SEE what a fat ass that broad was? She was coming at him. If she'd have been six inches further, she would have fallen on him and he wouldn't have gotten up for days. He does not appear to be someone who lost his temper. He appears to be someone who was getting the situation under control.
It's an impossible task the public holds cops to. On one hand, they look bad if they use physical force against women. On the other hand, they look just as bad if they do not control out of control irate people and allow them to injure themselves or others.

There are several points here. The first is verbal non compliance. The second is physical non compliance. When the girl started to walk away, what options does the officer have? Should he continue telling her to stop? Should he physically stop her? The officer chose the latter. That's correct procedure. Now, as he was physically constraining the non compliant person, another person comes up and physically and verbally interferes. At this point, he has two people resisting arrest and escalating the situaion.
For all of you Monday morning quarter backs out there, why don't you list the options availiable to the officer at this point. I'd love to hear them.

Unless it is a matter of life and death (as in she is gonna kill him for real)...... a male officer never needs to punch a woman.
Bull crap. A threat is a threat, regardless of what's not hanging between the legs. Self defense is not only a right, it's an obligation for an officer who's charged with maintaining order.
